Bottle Kicking - or to give it its full title Hallaton Hare Pie Scrambling & Bottle Kicking - is an ancient and unique sporting event played between the south Leicestershire villages of Hallaton and Medbourne.

Played for centuries Bottle Kicking is like an ancient version of rugby played across fields between Hallaton and Medbourne. A small barrel of beer - known as a ‘bottle’ - is used as the ball. The victorious village wins the best of three matches.Hundreds of people watch, take part and celebrate this unique sporting tradition
